A sweeter, more light-hearted, and humorous side of my work: The Blobs. The idea was born amidst the pandemic when I was feeling overwhelmed - like so many of us. I was working on my dining room table due to nationwide closures, and had no way of firing anything - the original Sad Blob came to life.
A relatable creature with far too many emotions weighing on his little shoulders. The ever-evolving Blobs have slowly become representations of our families and friends: the grandma who likes to read, the teenager who can't put their phone down, or the brother who loves to chow down on a box of doughnuts.
All were made in 2019 with porcelain and decorated using various glazes. Each one measures at 5.5” H x 3.5” W x 3.5” D.
